Okay, so you have decided on who is going to be in your bridal party and they have all agreed to be in it! We both know that for things to go well, they all need to get along regardless of the number of attendants.
It is a good idea to get together in a casual setting to break the ice (No wedding talk if that’s possible). For example meet up for a light lunch and drinks. You will be able to introduce each member of the bridal party and they can start to break the ice. I’ve got to say, a bit of wine or other drink of choice helps to get people more relaxed, and helps to take the edge off, if people are a bit nervous.
With any luck everyone will have a great time and get along! But in real life 🙂 people will form groups with people they are drawn to! This is not a bad thing as long as there is no animosity between groups. You will be able to see who can possibly work on projects together.
As your wedding arrangements proceed, make sure you and your maid of honor bring the group together periodically for a fun and relaxing meet up.
Here are a few ideas:
Take a cooking class – this is always a lot of fun!
Go bowling – another good one!
Do some yoga together – this is actually a real fun and relaxing thing to do. It can be pretty hilarious if like me you have no flexibility what so ever.
Do some Signature Cocktail tasting together.
Have an ‘Addressing the Invitations’ party – pretty self explanatory and turns a tedious chore into something fun!
Have a hands on spa day – you can create and pamper yourselves with products that you make giving yourself a facial or Mani-Pedi.
If you are in the Chicago area we offer this at The Bridal Spa Boutique. This is a really relaxing and fun idea. You can learn more about all the fun things you can do at the boutique here.
The whole idea really is to make sure your wedding goes without a hitch, and a bridal party that gets along really does make this happen!
