vanilla pumpkin sugarSince Fall is on the horizon, posting this decadent ‘Pumpkin and Vanilla sugar scrub recipe now is timely. It is extremely good for the skin and smells delicious too.

Ingredients:
The quantities below are enough for a facial treatment, but you can definitely scale up if you want enough for a body treatment.

2 Tablespoons of brown sugar (use fine grains for the face and coarse for the body)
1 Teaspoon of peeled and mashed pumpkin
1 Tablespoon of olive oil
1/3 Vanilla bean

Method:
Add the sugar, mashed pumpkin, and oil into a bowl. Split and scrape the inside of the vanilla bean. Add into bowl and mix until well blended.

How to use:
After cleansing the face, apply a small amount on to fingertips, using circular motions, rub gently on to face carefully avoiding the delicate eye area to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. Do this for 1 to 2 minutes, then rinse with warm water and pat dry. Follow with moisturizer.

Benefits:
Pumpkins contain enzymes which help to exfoliate and remove dead skin cells. This in combination with exfoliation from the sugar is a sure way to reveal healthy glowing skin.
Olive oil helps to regenerate the skin, attracts moisture to the skin and moisturizes it, in turn keeping it soft and supple.
