Well, so can you with a little bit of effort and some natural skin care products!
Cleanse + Tone + Moisturize
That post dealt with cleansers and cleansing the skin. Today the focus will be on toners and how applying a toner to your face will get you looking as gorgeous as the lady pictured! Honestly!!
After cleansing the skin, the next step is to use a toner.
A toner helps to get rid of any residue that may have been left behind, it also gets rid of any excess cleanser that may have been left behind as well. It helps to tighten the pores and restore the pH balance of the skin resulting in the prevention of skin problems.
The great thing is that there are so many types of toners available, and each one caters to a different skin type or condition. It is nearly impossible not to find one that is compatible with a particular skin type.
A few possible ingredients in a toner are:
Botanical or Fruit extracts: they condition and nourish the skin,
Aloe vera juice: soothes, heals and moisturizes the skin,
Glycerin: preserves moisture and restores the elasticity of the skin,
Protein extracts: maintain elasticity and keeps the skin supple,
Hyaluronic acid:helps to hydrate the skin.
The list goes on………………………,
This simply means that from the very simple to the very fancy, there is a product for everyone out there,
and that is awesome!!
-For dry skin it is best to use an alcohol free toner because alcohol can really dry out the skin.
-For oily skin use toners that contain alcohol or witch hazel which work to remove excess oil from the skin work well. Witch hazel being less aggressive on the skin than alcohol.
-For acne toners with salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide are very good.
-For aging skin, use a toner that contains anti-oxidants which get rid of free radicals which cause the skin to age.
Application: A toner is best applied after cleansing the face by moistening a cotton ball with the toner and then gently wiping the whole face and neck to ensure total cleansing and toning of the skin. It can also be applied by spraying a fine mist onto face and neck and letting it sink in or adding a little in the palm of your hands, rubbing together and smoothing onto face before wiping face with a cotton ball.
Once a toner is applied, the skin is ready for more nourishing and moisturization!
Will keep you posted on that final step of the basic skin care ritual!!
